HOU has launched a hardship fund to help house staff through unexpected financial difficulties. Bargaining unit members may request an amount up to $350 dollars, which will be reviewed and approved by a majority vote of the Executive Board. In cases of extreme financial distress, bargaining unit members may request an amount in excess of $350, but may be required to provide additional information or documentation for any funding above this amount. Hardship funds are available to any member of the bargaining unit, but preference will be given to HOU members in good standing and to applicants who have not previously requested funds in the last twelve months.
